The CPD Standards Office has accredited the first in a series of social value e-learning modules developed by Arden & GEM.
A collaboration between social value specialists and the Learning and Development team, the new e-learning series aims to take participants from an introduction to social value through to embedding social value into procurement processes and measuring progress against organisational priorities.
The CPD Standards Office has accredited the first module in the series, ‘Social Value Training: introductory level’ which takes learners through:
- What is social value?
- What is social value from an NHS perspective?
- How does social value influence the NHS today?
- How will it influence the NHS in coming years?
This is essential knowledge for those working in health and care with responsibility for or an interest in delivering the fourth aim of an Integrated Care System – to support broader social and economic development.
It is also helpful to NHS, or wider public sector, suppliers who need to demonstrate how they will improve economic, social and environmental wellbeing as part of mandatory procurement considerations.
The introductory level e-learning module is available for free to all members of the Social Value Network, Arden & GEM’s support network for a collaborative, joined up approach to social value across the public sector. It is also available on a time limited introductory offer of £50 per person to non-members.
Participants who complete the introductory level receive a CPD accredited certificate of learning and are then invited to undertake further specific modules covering the role of social value in the long term sustainability of the NHS and social value considerations in procurement.
