Two digital products which support the efficient and effective delivery of national vaccination programmes have been shortlisted at this year’s HSJ Digital Awards.
Increasing vaccination uptake is vital to protecting public health, safeguarding NHS services and supporting the wider economy. Built by the NHS for the NHS, RAVS (Record a Vaccination Service) and Mavis (Manage Vaccinations in Schools) are replacing previously fragmented and time-consuming systems with simple, user-centred and thoroughly tested digital services.
The two digital products from NHS England’s Digital Prevention Services portfolio, which are supported by a collaborative Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) team, have been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Driving Prevention and Early Intervention Through Digital
- Improving Back-Office Efficiencies Through Digital.
These solutions are already delivering tangible benefits, including improved efficiency, enhanced data quality and strengthened patient safety, supporting teams to deliver vaccination programmes more effectively at scale.
The RAVS system was initially built and piloted by NHS Arden & GEM’s Business Intelligence service in 2024, before being handed over to NHS England, with a system support desk in place.
The HSJ Digital Awards 2026 winners will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on Tuesday 19 May. The full shortlist is available on the awards website.
