The Arden & GEM procurement team has been successfully shortlisted in the Public Procurement of the Year category for the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards 2022.
The Awards – which are respected as a benchmark for excellence and seen as the most prestigious recognition in the profession – are an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the best work and team in procurement. Judges described this year’s entries as being of an incredible calibre and record number with only the best practice and highest standards making the shortlist.
Arden & GEM’s successful project was for procurement and contracting support for the COVID-19 vaccination programme. Enabling frontline teams to deliver more than 100 million doses as part of the COVID-19 vaccination programme required significant commercial expertise.
Arden & GEM’s procurement and contracting team worked on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement to develop and execute a successful procurement strategy for vaccine-related equipment and consumables in an intensely competitive international market. Building on this success, the team went on to deliver support for the programme’s workforce, technology and logistics workstreams ensuring that the right resources were in the right place at the right time while achieving value for money for the public purse.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for this year’s CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards. This is the highest recognition of the expertise and commitment of our team, who went above and beyond to support the national programme, driven by a duty to do their best for the public and ultimately save lives.”
Andy Harvey, Associate Director for Procurement and Project Lead
Winners of the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards will be announced at a celebratory event in London on Wednesday 21 September 2022.
