Arden & GEM has been shortlisted for the fourth consecutive year in the Health and Wellbeing category of the Investors in People Awards 2023.
The annual Investors in People Awards celebrate the very best in people management, wellbeing, apprenticeships and individual success. Now in its 10th year, the awards ceremony is looking to reach new heights in recognition and prestige.
Arden & GEM’s shortlisting in the Health and Wellbeing category, for the fourth successive year, is in recognition of a wide range of health and wellbeing initiatives delivered by the CSU as part of a holistic wellbeing strategy:
- More than 100 staff have been trained in Mental Health First Aid to identify, understand and support colleagues who may be experiencing reduced mental health as part of a two-day accredited course. In addition to developing the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping safe, our Mental Health First Aiders also have access to a peer support network.
- A highly successful ‘Learning Week’ which took place in May 2023 and saw 30 workshops focus on resilience for the future which were attended by 230 employees.
- The launch of Project ME which is designed to create a space for employees to focus on prioritising themselves and things that bring them happiness – discussing anything and everything from self-care tips to favourite foods and music. The project includes a dedicated intranet space, online community, fortnightly virtual sessions, access to wellbeing apps and a self-care toolbox.
- A monthly wellbeing newsletter called ‘Nurture’ which includes blogs, information, hints and tips, and learning and development opportunities on a variety of health and wellbeing themes.
“We are incredibly proud to once again have made the final shortlist in this year’s Investors in People Awards. Prioritising the health and wellbeing of our staff is a fundamental part of our corporate strategy and organisational culture, and I am delighted that this has been recognised externally. We are continually looking for new and innovative ways to enhance the support we provide to our staff whether that is through learning opportunities, creating the space for mindfulness or making practical tools – such as wellbeing apps – available for free. We see investment in wellbeing as our moral duty to employees but we also see the organisational benefits of this approach in reduced absence rates and increased staff length of service.”
Mike Walker, Business Services Director at Arden & GEM
