Arden & GEM’s Data and Systems team has been named winners in the Patient Data category at the Health Business Awards 2020.

Taking place via a virtual ceremony on Thursday 10 December, the annual Health Business Awards recognised excellence in the NHS and celebrated the dedication of healthcare professionals.

Arden & GEM were winners in the Patient Data category for the COVID-19 Patient Notification System (CPNS) which was developed, on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement, as part of the early response to the coronavirus pandemic to enable the daily reporting of deaths.

In addition to providing the definitive source for the daily reporting of hospital deaths, the CPNS also provides a live reporting stream to support national organisations to understand disease spread and make informed decisions.

Ayub Bhayat, Chief Data Officer at Arden & GEM said, “This is a hugely welcome recognition for the team’s tireless work to support the response to the coronavirus pandemic. The CPNS provides accurate, timely information which has proved critical for decision-makers and scientists. By bringing together development, user support, data management and reporting expertise from within our business intelligence service and working in close partnership with key stakeholders, we were able to build a robust system in just five days.”

The CSU was also Commended in the Telehealth category for their partnership project with Tekihealth Solutions to deliver remote healthcare services to care home residents.
