The webinar provided an opportunity to share international best practice on how to deliver best value from clinical networks – from strategy through to implementation – and covered two key subject areas:
- Understanding the current health landscape, where networks fit and how do they operate to deliver change in the real world. This session provided a UK perspective (from Professor Des Breen, Medical Director at South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS) as well as the Canadian experience (delivered by Braden Manns and Tracy Wasylak from Alberta Health Services)
- Sir Muir Gray also shared learning and insight on implementing a culture of value and stewardship within health systems and the vital role that networks play in creating this change.
Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive with delegate comments including:
“A great opportunity to network and see another way of working/doing things. Great to hear about things we could try and have conversations with people who are truly on the outside looking in. This gave a great and different perspective and was well worth my time.”
“This has energized me. Whilst these are two ostensibly different systems, we were all wrestling with the same issues. Muir as always was brilliant.”
“I appreciated learning about another health system and meeting colleagues with similar network roles/responsibilities. Appreciated the potential collaborative opportunities”
“Gave a great and different perspective and was well worth my time. Also, nice to hear that we (UK) aren't the only system dealing with these issues e.g. workforce.”
“I appreciated the opportunity to see the structural evolution of the NHS (I have followed UK advancement of clinical and other networks for a decade now and it was of great value to see how AHS is differently positioned and can study and enable implementation).”
