Arden & GEM’s procurement team was invited to present at the recent Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) ‘Best in Procurement’ event, showcasing award winning projects from the Supply Management Awards in 2017.
The Best in Procurement event was hosted by CIPS on Monday 29 January at the Barbican Centre in London. Over 100 delegates heard from organisations who had been winners of a prestigious Supply Management Award in 2017.
Representing Arden & GEM were Procurement Manager, Neli Garbuzanova and Head of Marketing, Paul Fradgley. The presentation focused on our highly complex procurement to improve community services across Nottinghamshire which won the ‘Best Public Procurement Project’ category.
By bringing together six Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Nottinghamshire Hospice, the procurement aimed to transform fragmented community service in the county. The project involved exceptional collaboration between partners and providers, and close stakeholder engagement throughout. Patients and service users were involved at every step of the process using a wide range of methods including online surveys, engagement events and an elected representative for young people with disabilities. The initiative achieved £12.04m in savings while also improving patient outcomes.
Neli and Paul were also able to offer delegates an insight into the benefits of winning the award at a team, organisational and sector level.
