In April 2024, NHS England delegated 59 specialised services to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). This transition required @Boehringer Ingelheim to quickly acquire practical knowledge of service specifications, contract frameworks, and funding flows to ensure seamless operations.
Experts from the Life Science Hub collaborated with senior stakeholders within Boehringer Ingelheim to design and deliver four specialised 50-minute training modules. These modules covered policy, finance, governance, and specialised medicines, and were tailored to specific roles within the organisation. The training was supported by an evergreen slide library, providing ongoing access to updated information.
As a result of this training initiative, Boehringer Ingelheim employees now navigate the complexities of delegated commissioning with confidence. The comprehensive training modules enable swift onboarding of new staff, reducing the time required to integrate them into the system. Additionally, the on-demand toolkit ensures that staff maintain NHS-aligned expertise, allowing teams to stay updated with the latest developments and best practice.
