Arden & GEM Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) has won the prestigious Procurement and Supply Chain Management Collaboration category at the 2016 Health Care Supply Association (HCSA) Awards.

This sought after accolade was awarded in recognition of work completed by our procurement team in a highly complex programme to improve community services across Nottinghamshire, in a collaborative partnership with six Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Nottinghamshire County and City Councils, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Nottinghamshire Hospice.

The win was announced at the HCSA annual conference held in Harrogate on 3 November 2016.  The hotly contested category saw 8 shortlisted projects with 3 receiving ‘highly recommended’ on the night. The award was judged on the development of collaborative partnership that demonstrated:

  • Efficiency gains that are quantifiable in real cash terms
  • Tangible service improvement benefits
  • Key characteristics of this successful collaboration
  • Innovative and sustainable attributes developed through the partnership
  • Transferability and ease of adoption by other partnerships within the NHS
  • Successful engagement with NHS stakeholders within the customer organisation

Warren Simms, Associate Director of Clinical Procurement and Market Management, NHS Arden & GEM CSU, said: “It’s a great honour to receive such prestigious recognition for our procurement team. Our winning project demonstrates the opportunities that are available through truly collaborative working across the CSU, CCGs, providers and the local authority.”
