Arden & GEM has appointed a new Chief Operations Officer to oversee delivery for customers in Essex. Paul Davison has been appointed to the role to ensure our local services add value, ultimately improving outcomes for local patients. He took up his post at the beginning of January 2019.

A qualified accountant, Paul has worked within the NHS for more than 25 years, leading finance, IT, contracts, procurement and business intelligence functions. His most recent post was Director of Transformation and Strategy for North East Essex CCG where he led a countywide procurement for IT services on behalf of seven CCGs.

As Chief Operations Officer, Paul will oversee service delivery in Essex which falls into the following areas:

  • Corporate IT support – including strategic planning and operational delivery
  • GP IT support – to enable the transformation of primary care services
  • Business intelligence services – to support knowledge development and drive innovation
  • Finance services
  • HR services.

Paul said: "I am looking forward to working with my new team and former CCG colleagues to develop a strategic partnership that delivers collaborative services for the benefit of the local health economy.”

With an in-depth knowledge of the Essex healthcare system and experience of leading multidisciplinary, cross organisational functions, Paul will ensure service delivery supports customers to achieve their ambitions while responding to the commercial challenges of working in a Commissioning Support Unit.
